Pelicans better lock Zion in the House because I can hear those good people in New Orleans saying “Hey Baby you want some Fried Gator Baby†I’m telling y’all I played for the Pelicans and it’s FOOD everywhere!
This may have been a bit of sarcasm in his comments, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that there is some concern about Williamson’s weight. He is a uniquely different athlete that there haven’t been any other players that have looked like him physically entering the league.
There is some credence to this conversation as Williamson has looked to have gained some extra weight in the last few weeks. It has brought more fuel to the conversation that he will need to slim down in order to reach his full potential while avoiding any injuries related to being at a greater weight.

In the meantime, Williamson will have the next several weeks to slim down and get himself in great physical shape ahead of his rookie campaign. There is a great level of expectations ahead of him to become the franchise-changing talent that can lead the Pelicans to relevancy in the NBA and much success in the process.
