NFL Week 6 odds: Making a case for the underdog

NFL Week 6 kicks off with the Patriots VS the Giants on Thursday Night Football. We take a look at some underdog bets in NFL Week 6.

New York Giants at New England Patriots (-16.5)

The Giants might catch the Patriots napping on a short week. Beyond that, maybe Daniel Jones can rack up some garbage time points for a cover.

Carolina Panthers (-2) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

This game is in London, so it’s reality a neutral site situation. Tampa Bay might be outright better than Carolina, so it’s smart to simply take the points.

Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-11.5)

The Ravens just beat the Steelers by three points … in overtime … facing a second and then third-string quarterback. They shouldn’t be laying 11 points against anybody.

Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs (-5)

The Texans are catching the Chiefs at the right time. They have injuries on both sides of the ball, including Patrick Mahomes dealing with an ankle sprain. This could be a win outright.

New Orleans Saints at Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)

The Saints haven’t lost a game since the Drew Brees injury, thanks to Teddy Bridgewater, Alvin Kamara and a quality defense. There’s no reason that should change here.

Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings (-3)

The Eagles are the better team. Yes, it’s a road game but there’s no reason to think Carson Wentz and Co. can’t score enough points to hold off the Fighting Kirk Cousins of Minnesota.

Seattle Seahawks at Cleveland Browns (-2)

Why in God’s name are the Seahawks underdogs? Cleveland just got pounded in San Fran and is on a short week, while the Seahawks have 10 days to prepare.

Washington Redskins (-3.5) at Miami Dolphins

It’s the Redskins. The Dolphins have a chance to cover and win.

Atlanta Falcons (-1.5) at Arizona Cardinals

Why are the Falcons favored? Arizona is at home and higher up in the standings. Atlanta is a complete mess with a coach who knows he’s getting fired.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams (-4)

The 49ers are undefeated and coming off a 31-3 pasting of the Browns on Monday night. There’s every reason to believe San Francisco is for real.

Dallas Cowboys (-8.5) at New York Jets

Tough case to make. Maybe the Jets can cover late, or get a decent game from Sam Darnold if he’s recovered from mono.

Tennessee Titans at Denver Broncos (-2.5)

The Titans have to win this game. After losing three of four, they will be desperate against a banged-up Broncos team.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers (-6.5)

If there’s any team that could lose to a third-string quarterback at home on primetime, it’s the Chargers.

Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (-4.5)

The Lions’ only defeat came to the Chiefs with 20 seconds remaining. They’re a good team, and they know the Packers well.
