Rockets will be without Eric Gordon for six week due to knee surgery
The Houston Rockets are off to a strong start out of the gate to the 2019-20 season, holding one of the top marks in the Western Conference.
However, the team took a significant blow over the weekend with guard Eric Gordon suffering a knee injury, which he underwent surgery that will keep him out of the lineup for the next six weeks, according to ESPN.

Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon will have knee surgery and will be out six weeks, coach Mike D’Antoni said Tuesday.
In the last few seasons, Gordon has been an enormous piece of the puzzle offensively as their primary scorer off the bench. He has put together some of his most productive campaigns, which includes capturing a Sixth Man of the Year award.

His absence now puts a more significant weight on the rest of the bench unit to pick up the slack offensively. That will mean that Ben McLemore and Austin Rivers will need to pick up the slack offensively as they have been the two primary guards off the bench, aside from Gordon.
It had been a slow start to the year for the veteran guard as he is averaging 10.9 points while shooting 30.9 percent from the floor and 28.4 percent from beyond the arc in 29.4 minutes per game. Despite that, his presence will be missed as he provides another proven shooter from distance to the mix that has fit so well into the Rockets’ fast-paced offensive scheme over the last three-plus seasons.
