Freddie Kitchens maintains Browns star Myles Garrett is ‘a good person’
It has been several days since Cleveland Browns star defensive end Myles Garrett was handed down a season-ending suspension for his actions in the incident with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph.
Garrett has voiced his apologies for his actions, while he has also filed an appeal to his suspension. With that in mind, head coach Freddie Kitchens has aired his support for the Pro Bowler, according to Jake Trotter of ESPN.

“Myles Garrett’s a good person,” Kitchens said. “We’re not going to pile on Myles. He had a bad lapse in judgment and that’s it. I’m still a Myles fan and I’m going to support him. Our organization is going to support him, his teammates, coaching staff will support him.”
That was an expected move as Kitchens is only supporting Garrett through this entire matter. He had already expressed his disappointment with the situation following last Thursday’s game.

Garrett’s actions were completely unacceptable. However, he wasn’t the only party at fault in the incident, as Rudolph instigated the matter. He has attempted to pull the Browns defensive end’s helmet before the situation escalating to a helmet being smacked into the Steelers quarterback’s head.
The appeal for the suspension will likely be denied as Garrett’s actions went much further than anything reasonable. There was no need for him to go to that extent to fire back at Rudolph. The Browns will now venture the rest of the season with one of their core pieces to the puzzle defensively in their attempt to compete for the playoffs.
