Texans star J.J. Watt claims he’s ‘determined to return for the playoffs’
The Houston Texans are on the verge of yet another AFC South division title. Deshaun Watson and company can clinch that division title with a win on Saturday. They come up against the shorthanded Tampa Bay Buccaneers and odds are they’ll do just that.
With the Texans looking like they’ll be playoff-bound once again this year, J.J. Watt’s playing status has come into question in terms of whether he’ll be able to return for a playoff run. According to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Watt appears to be determined to get back on the field to help his team during the postseason.

If we’ve learned anything about Watt during his nine years in Houston, it is to never count him out. Tell Watt he can’t do something, and it makes him even more determined to do it.
And Watt is determined to return for the playoffs — if the Texans make the playoffs. They can earn a fourth AFC South title in five years with a victory at Tampa Bay on Saturday.

As it stands, the Texans will have a tough go of it during the upcoming postseason as there will be stiff competition in the AFC. The Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Kansas City Chiefs, and the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots have already clinched spots in the playoffs. The Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers appear to be the favorite for the Wild Card spots. Meanwhile, Houston can punch their ticket to the postseason with the division title this weekend.
If Houston can pull it off, Watt’s presence in the playoffs will be needed even if he’s not back to a 100 percent just yet.
