Jets QB Sam Darnold admits not playing ‘consistent enough’
The New York Jets are arguably the worst team in the NFL right now. The team has some promising young talent and a quarterback the team views as a franchise player. However, quarterback Sam Darnold knows he isn’t playing well enough to be successful in the NFL.
After getting blown out by the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3, Darnold opened up about his performance this season and how he simply isn’t cutting it right now, via ESPN.

“I just have to play consistent. I mean, I’m not playing consistent enough to play well in this league.” Sobering words. More: “Obviously, I didn’t play well enough today. Didn’t execute well enough. The turnovers cost us big time.”
Following the loss to the Colts, the Jets are now sitting with a 0-3 record and a potentially bleak future for the outcome of this 2020 NFL season. New York can’t seem to put it together and that will continue to weigh heavy on Darnold as well as head coach Adam Gase who could be on the hot seat after another disappointing loss.

New York’s offense is awful this season throughout the first three games. The team is ranked 30th in passing yards at 187.5 per game while being even worse in rushing yards (78.0) and points per game (15.0) at 31st in both categories.
If this trend continues offensively, the team may need to make a drastic move to either part ways with Gase or send Darnold to the bench. Something has to change or it will definitely be another long and disappointing season for the storied franchise.
