NFL Week 9 lines: Reason to bet on the favorites
It’s Week 9 of the 2020 NFL season, and this is a great run of contests. If you’re thinking about betting on the favorites, here’s a reason why you’re right.
Green Bay Packers (-7) at San Francisco 49ers
Let’s be real. San Francisco has nobody left to play with. Green Bay should win by 20 points.
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Indianapolis Colts
The Ravens have lost two straight games exactly once in Lamar Jackson’s career. Tough spot for Indy.
Carolina Panthers at Kansas City Chiefs (-10.5)
The Chiefs have won 16 of 17 games dating back to last season. They’ve covered in all of those victories.

Chicago Bears at Tennessee Titans (-6)
Tennessee’s defense hasn’t been good defensively, but Nick Foles ought to be the perfect tonic. Chicago simply can’t score.
Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings (-4)
The Lions could be without Matthew Stafford, and even if he plays, Minnesota has the far more complete roster.
Denver Broncos at Atlanta Falcons (-4)
The Falcons have either won or blown huge leads in every game. While Denver has a good defense, it’s tough to see Drew Lock and Co. keeping up with Atlanta’s firepower.
Houston Texans (-6.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars
Jake Luton isn’t keeping an inferior team within a touchdown of Deshaun Watson. No chance.
New York Giants at Washington Football Team (-2.5)
The Football Team lost by a point to the Giants in their last meeting, and Washington is now coming off a bye, at home, and getting New York on a short week.

Seattle Seahawks (-3) at Buffalo Bills
This is going to be a shootout. While Josh Allen is having a nice year, Russell Wilson is the MVP through eight weeks, and Buffalo’s defense will offer almost no resistance.
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers (-1)
Los Angeles is the better team, with the better quarterback, but it can’t hold leads — remember Atlanta? The Chargers need this to stay alive, and Justin Herbert delivers.
Miami Dolphins at Arizona Cardinals (-4.5)
This is a great spot for the Cardinals. Tua Tagovailoa looked poor in his first NFL start last week, and the Dolphins are coming across the country, on a short week, and Arizona is off the bye.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-14) at Dallas Cowboys
Dallas is playing some guy named Cooper Rush at quarterback. C’mon now.
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5)
While the Saints beat Tampa Bay in Week 1, these teams have gone opposite directions since in terms of quality. New Orleans is still good, but the Buccaneers might be the lead dog in the NFC.
New England Patriots (-7.5) at New York Jets
The Patriots are playing the Jets. Bill Belichick is coaching against Adam Gase.
