LeBron James ‘Intrigued’ To See NBA Covid Protocol
LeBron James guided the Los Angeles Lakers to their first NBA championship in 10 years inside the infamous Orlando Bubble.
The quarantined facility was a one-of-a-kind, never before seen undertaking. It was the NBA’s solution to finishing it’s season in Covid-19 pandemic condition.
The new season, beginning before Christmas, won’t be played in a bubble. LeBron James said he does not yet know what protocols the league will implement to contain the virus.
Speaking on the Road Trippin’ Podcast, he also expressed his cynicism over the NBA’s rush to begin the new season so soon, after the shortest offseason period in history.

On the podcast, LeBron James said money is ‘the biggest reason’ the league opted to start the season so soon.
“I’m very intrigued on seeing what the protocols are going to be,” James said.Â
“There’s been discussions, there’s been talks. They wanted to make sure that we can get the season going. Obviously for a lot of different reasons.
“I’m very intrigued in seeing how they deal with this because we all know COVID is still very active. And they actually told us that in the winter, it’s going to be more active than anytime and that’s what we’re in right now — either if you’re seeing snow or not, this is the wintertime and it’s picking up steam. So, I just want to see how we tackle this.”

James thinks that the Lakers’ new additions, as well as their ability to stay healthy will help them repeat the championship win.
“We absolutely can. … First of all, it all starts with health. You have to have some luck. You have to have health. If we can stay healthy.
“We did get younger,” said James.
“We have a 27-year-old point guard [in Schroder]. We got the 27-year-old Sixth Man of the Year award [winner] in Trezz. We got younger. We got Marc, who is a Defensive Player of the Year and his IQ, not only playing against him in the NBA, but also playing against him versus Spain with the national team.”
