Chris Paul Doubtful For Western Finals Due To Covid Protocol
Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul is doubtful for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals due to coronavirus protocol.
Chris Paul has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol and is listed as out indefinitely. According to ESPN, he has already been vaccinated against Covid-19. As a result, Chris Paul ought to have a shorter absence.
However, the pandemic regulations are still quite unclear. They were relaxed in March for players and coaches who choose to get vaccinated.Â
A player can return to action if they return at least two negative PCR tests at least 24 hours apart. We don’t know whether or not Chris Paul has symptoms. If he does, he must wait at least ten days from the onset of the symptoms.

The Suns will play either the Clippers or Utah in the Western Finals after sweeping the Nuggets in the semifinals. Paul averaged 25.5 points on 61.8% shooting, 58.3% from 3, 100% from the free throw line, plus a 41-to-5 assist-to-turnover ratio against Denver.
Phoenix head coach Monty Williams couldn’t confirm Paul’s availability for Game 1 of the Finals.
“I’m not even going to go there until I have to, so there’s no reason for me to be pessimistic at all,” Williams said. “We just have to wait and see what’s going to happen.â€

“Thankfully we’ve put ourselves in a position where we have time,” Williams said.Â
“But at the same time, as the coach, I have to think through those scenarios. I’ve thought a lot about it. I haven’t, we haven’t, made a decision yet because we don’t have to, but it is a process for me to think about who starts and the rotation after it.”
