Veteran wide receiver Josh Gordon has submitted his reinstatement letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and hopes to be with a team for training camp, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The NFL has been randomly drug testing Gordon for the past three months, and he is said to have passed all tests, according to the source.
There is no clarity on whether Gordon will get an opportunity to receive clearance before the 2021 campaign. The 30-year-old has kept himself active through his participation in the fan-controlled football league.
However, his desire remains centred on getting back into the NFL after another extended absence. If he receives clearance from the league, he will be a free agent. As a result he will have the ability to sign with any NFL franchise.
