NFL power rankings: Top 10 quarterbacks entering 2021
Going into the 2021 season, we give our NFL power rankings on the top 10 quarterbacks, led by a pair of champs.
10. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
Jackson is 30-7 as a regular-season starter, but only 1-3 in the playoffs. He’s also never thrown for 3,200 yards in a season, but is an electrifying athlete who improves each year. He deserves a spot here.
9. Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
Tannehill was given new life in Tennessee after two contracts mediocrity with the Miami Dolphins, and he’s made the most of it. Leading the Titans to another playoff berth in 2020, the former Texas A&M star threw for 3,819 yards with 33 touchdowns and seven picks. Now he gets Julio Jones.

8. Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Ryan deserves more recognition. He’s an MVP and should have won a Super Bowl, only to have it ripped away. The Falcons have rookie Kyle Pitts and receiver Calvin Ridley, so despite losing Jones, look for another big year from Ryan.
7. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
Prescott was on his way to throwing for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns before breaking his ankle last year. Maybe his numbers don’t get quite that high in 2021, but he’s a force to be dealt with.
6. Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Brady is 44 years old next month, but remains atop of the NFL power rankings. The reigning champ only finished behind Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes in yardage last year while throwing 40 touchdowns. Unreal.
5. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson fell off there second half of last season, but he’s been phenomenal throughout his nine-year career in Seattle. Despite the downturn, he still amassed 4,212 yards and 40 touchdowns against 13 interceptions.

4. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
Did anybody enjoy a bigger coming out party than in 2020 than Allen? Buffalo saw its quarterback go from liability to superstar, with Allen earning Second-Team All-Pro honors. Helping receiver Stefon Diggs lead the league in receiving, Allen helmed Buffalo to its first division title in 1995, throwing for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns.
3. Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans
We’re strictly talking about football here, and going off the premise that Watson is playing in 2021 until he isn’t. Last year, the former Clemson star took the passing title with 4,823 yards while throwing 33 touchdowns against seven interceptions. Watson did this despite losing All-Pro receiver DeAndre Hopkins in the offseason and then playing behind an awful offensive line.
2. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
The unhappiness between Green Bay and Rodgers aside, the reigning MVP is a dominant force and should continue to be into the upcoming season. Last year, Rodgers used the first-round choice of quarterback Jordan Love as motivation and racked up 4,299 yards with 48 touchdowns and only five interceptions. If Rodgers could win another title, he’d be regarded as one of the top quarterbacks ever in almost every circle.
1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
Nobody has been more productive, or a bigger winner both from a team and personal standpoint than Mahomes through three seasons. He’s a cyborg.
