Ronnie Harrison Jr Fined $12,000 by NFL For Week 1 Incident
Ronnie Harrison Jr. has been fined by the NFL for his Week 1 altercation with Chiefs running back coach Greg Lewis.
The Cleveland Browns safety was eventually flagged and ejected for some pushing and shoving between he and Lewis. However, it was Lewis who pushed Ronnie Harrison Jr. first, and the Kansas bench was initially flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The furore took place on the Chiefs opening drive, when Ronnie Harrison Jr. tackled RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire along the Kansas sideline. As picked himself up, he bumped into Creed Humphrey and stepped back onto Edwards-Helaire.

Greg Lewis pushed Harrison back and the safety retaliated in kind. In spite of calls for both to be sanctioned equally, Lewis has escaped any consequence. Harrison, meanwhile, has been fined $12,000.
Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was critical of his player at the time.Â
“It’s the oldest thing in football and in sport — the game officials always see the second guy,” Stefanski said earlier this week. “Ronnie has to show some poise there and not retaliate.”
Teammate JC Tretter (and NFLPA president) came to his defence, calling for Greg Lewis to be held accountable too.

“I expect that the coach gets held to the same standard — if not a higher standard — than Ronnie,” Tretter said. “Being the first one in there and being a coach, putting his hands on an opposing player.”
