Bucs will be without Rob Gronkowski, Antonie Winfield Jr. for Week 5 vs. Dolphins

The Bucs bounced back in Week 5 by gutting out a 19-17 win over the New England Patriots.

However, the Bucs are moving forward with some lingering health issues as the team is expected to be without safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and tight end Rob Gronkowski for Week 5 action against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN.

Winfield Jr. played a pivotal role in the win over the Patriots with an interception and a forced fumble. However he missed the last two drives due to entering the concussion protocol. The situation has pushed him out of action for this week’s matchup, pushing Mike Edwards into the starting spot.

Edwards has performed well this season, recording a pair of pick-sixes in the Week 2 win over the Atlanta Falcons. Meanwhile, Gronkowski is still dealing with fractured ribs and a punctured lung he suffered against the Los Angeles Rams.

Gronkowski continues to progress forward in his recovery as he rode the stationary bike this week. With him out, quarterback Tom Brady will utilize the other weapons in the passing game, such as Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown.

Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard will share the workload with Gronkowski while providing stable red-zone options. The Buccaneers are loaded with talent offensively and should have more than enough firepower to move past the Dolphins, who have stumbled to a 1-3 record to begin this season.

Tampa Bay is in the prime position to move a step closer toward grabbing control of the NFC South.
