NFL Week 6 schedule: 5 QBs primed for huge games
With the NFL Week 6 schedule beginning on Thursday night with an NFC showdown, we look at which five quarterbacks will play well.
5. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are starting the week off on Thursday Night Football against the world-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are 4-1 and looking like a favorite to win it all again. However, the pass defense has been one of the worst in football. With the lack of a pass rush and the injuries on the back end, Tampa is struggling badly to stop anybody. Look for Hurts to exploit mismatches, particular with tight ends Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz, and receive DeVonta Smith.

4. Carson Wentz, Indianapolis Colts
Wentz played one of the best games of his career on Monday night in an overtime loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Now at 1-4, the Colts come home and see their schedule ease up considerably, with the Houston Texans coming into town. Houston doesn’t have any above-average corners after trading away Bradley Roby before Week 1. Look for receivers Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell to feast against the Texans in a must-win game.
3. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have one of the league’s best offenses. This week, they get the Ravens who while a good team, are leaking all kinds of oil in the secondary. Los Angeles has a pair of top-tier receivers in Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, while tight end Jared Cook and running back Austin Ekeler has provided quality options as well. Herbert, who in his second season looks like an MVP candidate, should have a big day in Baltimore.

2. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
After a slow start to the season, Allen is now rolling after throwing for more than 300 yards against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night. Now the Bills get the Titans, who might have a defense as bad as the Chiefs’ unit. With Stefon Diggs and Emmanuel Sanders on the outside, along with tight end Dawson Knox and Cole Beasley in the slot, Allen should torch Tennessee come Monday night.
1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
At 2-3, the Chiefs desperately need a huge game from Mahomes. Luckily for Kansas City, it draws the Washington Football Team, which despite having a ton of talent is one of the league’s worst defenses. Look for Mahomes to go berserk in this game, throwing to Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce and Josh Gordon at will. With the Chiefs needing to get back to .500, Mahomes is going to take matters in his own hands.
