Derrick Henry will play and start for Titans against Bengals

The Tennessee Titans are set to begin their playoff run as they host the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans will have a significant boost in the backfield with star running back Derrick Henry in the fold. Tennessee is expected to activate Henry before the divisional round matchup.

After going through practice this week, Henry voiced confidence and comfort moving forward after going through contact.

“I felt great,” Henry said via ESPN. “I just wanted to get some pads on. Haven’t them on in a while and got some contact going.”

Henry hasn’t played since being placed on the injured reserve on Nov. 1 first due to a fractured foot he suffered in Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Henry dominated through the first eight games, he recorded a league-beset 937 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. His return brings back much-needed balance to the offense as he’s one of the game’s best running backs.

In his absence, the Titans leaned on D’Onta Foreman to lead the charge as he finished the regular season with 566 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Tennessee will likely lean on Foreman to spell Henry in stretches to keep him fresh on Saturday night.
