NFL power rankings, Week 5: Who catches Eagles?

The Week 5 NFL power rankings are here for the NFC, and the Philadelphia Eagles are still topping the chart.

16. Chicago Bears (LW: 15)

The Bears don’t trust their quarterback, which means the offense is going to score about 10 points per game this season.

15. Washington Commanders (LW: 12)

Carson Wentz has been on three teams over the last three years for a reason. You’re seeing it every Sunday.

14. Carolina Panthers (LW: 13)

Carolina thought bringing in Baker Mayfield to pair with Matt Rhule was going to work out. And it has, for most of their opponents.

13. Detroit Lions (LW: 11)

The Lions can score with anybody, except the opponent, who can score at will every weekend.

12. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 16)

Seattle is legitimately fun. Geno Smith is playing really well, head coach Pete Carroll looks to be having fun, and the Seahawks are 2-2.

11. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 14)

Atlanta might give Desmond Ridder a chance soon if Marcus Mariota can’t complete double-digit passes. That said, the Falcons are surprisingly at 2-2 as well.

10. New Orleans Saints (LW: 9)

The Saints were supposed to be frisky this season, but injuries and questionable coaching are huge problems.

9. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 10)

Somehow, Arizona is 2-2 and tied for first place in the NFC West. And the Cardinals get DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension come Week 7.

8. New York Giants (LW: 8)

The Giants aren’t the most-talented team in the league, but they’re 3-1 and playing well defensively.

7. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 7)

Dallas has done a nice job to win three straight with Cooper Rush under center. Now, a trip to face the Rams.

6. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 4)

Speaking of the Rams, how many sacks does Micah Parsons get this week? Two? Four? Nine?

5. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 6)

The 49ers look really good when Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t sinking the ship. Ample talent and a great defense.

4. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 5)

Minnesota is a weird team, but the Vikings are 3-1 and in the lead of the NFC North with the moribund Bears coming to town on Sunday.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 3)

The Buccaneers are currently suffering through a two-game losing streak, but they’ll be fine. A soft schedule will have them rolling shortly.

2. Green Bay Packers (LW: 2)

Green Bay had a rough season opener against Minnesota, and since has reeled off three straight wins.

1. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 1)

The Eagles are the only undefeated team in the league, and both the offense and defense are hitting on all cylinders.
