NFL power rankings, Week 16: Giants make move
The NFL power rankings from Week 16 are here, and one the NFC side, the New York Giants are making their move.
16. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 15)
Trace McSorley might be finishing out this miserable season for the Cardinals. Says all you need to know.
15. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 14)
Nothing has gone right for the Rams this season, but at least they get the gift of hosting the Denver Broncos on Christmas.
14. Chicago Bears (LW: 16)
Chicago has the conference’s worst record and has lost six straight, but the Bears at least fight. Can’t say that for the Cards and Rams.
13. Carolina Panthers (LW: 12)
Tough loss at home to the Steelers. Carolina had a chance to put itself in first place of the NFC South.
12. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 11)
Atlanta is Turing the team over to rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder for the final month. How will it go?
11. New Orleans Saints (LW: 13)
The Saints are only a game back in the NFC South, but they have to overcome being swept by the Buccaneers.
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 10)
Could the offense be any more embarrassing? A botched fake punt and four turnovers to start the second half.
9. Green Bay Packers (LW: 9)
Green Bay is actually alive, but it needs to win out — starting in Miami on Christmas — and then hope for help.
8. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 5)
Seattle is starting to fall apart. Four losses in five games, and now a trip to face the Kansas City Chiefs in frigid Arrowhead Stadium.
7. Washington Commanders (LW: 6)
Very tough loss to the Giants on Sunday night. Now, Washington might need to win out .
6. Detroit Lions (LW: 7)
Detroit also needs to win out if it wants a great shot at the postseason. Two out of three might not do the trick.
5. New York Giants (LW: 8)
The Giants had been 0-3-1 in their last four games before going to Washington and scoring a huge victory for their postseason hopes.
4. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 4)
The Vikings pulled off the biggest comeback in NFL history last week. What a wild way to head into the holidays.
3. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 2)
Dallas had a 17-point lead in the third quarter against the Jacksonville Jaguars before suffering a complete meltdown. The Cowboys are essentially locked into the fifth seed.
2. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 3)
San Francisco deserves to move up. The Niners wrapped up the NFC West by pounding the Seahawks with a third-string, rookie quarterback.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 1)
Nobody is beating the Eagles when they play their best. At least not in the NFC.
