Eagles veteran sheds light on relationship between Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown

Since the Philadelphia Eagles narrowly edged out the Carolina Panthers 22-16 last Sunday, much has been made about the relationship between quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown.

Longtime Eagles pass rusher Brandon Graham shed light on the rocky connection between Brown and Hurts during his weekly radio show on Monday following Philadelphia’s win.

“They were friends before this, but things have changed, and I understand that because life happens,” Graham said via ESPN. “But it’s the business side that we have to make sure the personal doesn’t get in the way of the business.”

It didn’t take long for that to start a firestorm around the situation, and Brown addressed the matter on Wednesday, downplaying any conflict between himself and Hurts.

“BG was just being BG,” Brown said. “He’s emotional. In that case, he just misspoke. Me and Jalen are good.”

The Pro Bowl wideout may express no concern regarding the matter, but his actions on the field showcased issues. During Sunday’s win over the Panthers, he was seen slamming his helmet on the sideline following a three-and-out series and voiced his frustration after the game.

Brown was asked after the victory about what improvements needed to be made offensively, to which he responded by stating: “Passing.”

There is obvious internal friction that Brown is attempting to quiet the chatter around the situation. With the Eagles continuing to experience success behind their run-first offensive approach, there may not be an immediate fix to the star wideout’s frustrations.

Beyond that, time will tell if Brown’s future will be in Philadelphia for the long haul.
