Cowboys get concerning news about CeeDee Lamb
The Dallas Cowboys have had a rough start to the 2025 NFL season, with America’s Team losing two of its first three games and now potentially being without star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for an extended period.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN, Lamb could miss as much as a month with a high ankle sprain.
Pro Bowl wide receiver CeeDee Lamb could miss three to four weeks with a left high ankle sprain suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears, and rookie right guard Tyler Booker, the Cowboys’ first-round pick, is looking at a four-to-six-week absence due to a high ankle sprain, a source told ESPN.
The Cowboys could ultimately decide to put Lamb on injured reserve, which would require him to miss four games. Team owner and general manager Jerry Jones admits that it is a possibility for Dallas.
“We’re looking at that,” Jones said. “We’ll watch it a few more days. We don’t have to decide right now.”
Dallas was already reeling from the team’s struggles with the aftermath of the Micah Parsons trade and two losses, but losing Lamb, who is arguably the Cowboys’ best player, is a devastating blow for the team.

There now seem to be real questions about whether the Cowboys will even make the playoffs, given the way things are going after Week 3. Jones was asked if his squad is a playoff team at this point.
“We’re early in the season and you look, I mean I really would say that we got enough here to get this done,” Jones said. “We got enough. We really do. But it is frustrating just not just for this game but the fact that you’re looking at potentially games. That’s frustrating. We’re going to have players back though that are coming … But yeah, that’s a setback for us. Lamb, of course, is a real serious loss for us.”
Only time will tell if the Cowboys can get themselves out of this hole, but it’s not looking good moving forward.
