Broncos @ Patriots Preview

You can bill Sunday Night Football this week any way you want it. Some are calling it Manning versus Brady, while others are focusing on the narrative of  Wes Welker making his first appearance at his old stomping grounds since dawning a Denver Broncos Jersey.  Some are even calling it the “Game of the Year.” However you want to bill it the fact is that the New England Patriots versus the Denver Broncos game on Sunday Night Football is expected to be a good one.

The Patriots are coming off of a controversial loss to the Carolina Panthers, in which Tom Brady was in the midst of one of is last minuet game winning drives when the refs no called a pretty clear pass interference, ending the Pats chance at a win. Despite the loss, New England still sits atop of their division with a 7-3 record.

The Broncos are clearly a hard team to stop. They handing their division rivals the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season in their last game with a decisive win 27-17. However, the glory of beating their rivals is short lived as they are both still tied as division leaders.

The Chiefs will be taking on the San Diego Chargers this week and they are favored to win with a -4.5 point spread. This means the Broncos also need to beat the Pats and move on to Week 13 will they will have the chance to to take on the Chiefs again.

Manning is on pace to have a record setting season. He has got 34 touchdowns and 3,572 yards over ten games.

The Pats secondary is pretty banged up, which will give Manning plenty of opportunities to throw the ball. The Broncos pass rush is pretty intense but if Brady’s O-line holds up he should also find plenty of match up he likes. Brady and his receivers have had a wish-washy history, so if this game comes down to a shoot out between the two quarterbacks the question may become, can Brady keep up with Manning?
