Chris Paul ‘at peace’ with ugly divorce with Clippers
Several days have gone by since the LA Clippers made the stunning move to remove former All-Star point guard Chris Paul from the roster.
It’s given Paul enough time to reflect on the situation, as he told People Magazine that he is “at peace” with it.
“I’m actually at peace with everything,” Paul said. “More than anything, I’m excited about being around and getting a chance to play a small role in whatever anything looks like next.”
Paul had signed a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the Clippers to play his final NBA season with the franchise. However, internal conflict arose as his leadership style reportedly became an issue with head coach Ty Lue and the team.
All that led to Paul and team basketball executive Lawrence Frank having a three-hour conversation, which resulted in him being sent home.
Since the incident occurred, the 40-year-old has maintained a level-headed approach. He has expressed his desire to continue to play his final season, but when and where remain a mystery.

There isn’t clarity whether the Clippers are waiting until he becomes trade eligible on Dec. 15 or cut him outright. It’s likely the first scenario, as it could open the door for him to join another team that is making a playoff push.
Paul isn’t the player he once was, but he still offers steady play as a ball-handler and an efficient scorer. In 16 games all off the bench with the Clippers, he averaged 2.9 points and 3.3 assists while shooting 32.1 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc in 14.3 minutes per contest.
