Pacers Look To Put Wizards On The Brink
The Indiana Pacers will be looking to put the Washington Wizards on the the brink of elimination tonight. The Pacers lead the series 2-1 and if they win tonight they will only be one win away to advancing to the Conference Finals.
Things looked questionable for a while their. During the final month of the regular season, first playoff series and the first tow games of their series with the Wizards, the Pacers have been playing sloppy and inconsistently. Now that they are up in this series and the whole team seems to be playing championship level basketball it seems like the Pacers may be back on track.
Sometimes teams go through tough stretches. We just went through ours toward the end of the year…Now we’re starting to get back, and things are starting to click the right way. And we’re starting to get our mojo back.
-George Hill, Pacer’s guard
The Pacer have gotten back to what they do best, limiting points. After dropping Game 1 by allowing the Wizards score 102 points, the Pacers limited Washington to 82 points in Game 2 and an astonishing 63 points in Game 3.
After allowing John Wall and the Wizards to take Game 1 with 102 points, the Pacers have won two in a row by limiting Washington to 82 in Game 2, then a franchise-record-low 63 in Game 3.
During the regular season, the Pacers held opponents to 92.3 points, good enough for second place in defense in the league. Frank Voguel has taken the focus off of offensive rebounding and is instead sending Paul George and Lance Stephenson to help Hill set up on defense. It is the same strategy the team used when they defeated the Wizards twice in the regular season.
The Wizards are the -4 point favorite to win this game. The game starts at 8 p.m. ET and you can watch it on NBATV.
