Johnny Manziel Leads NFL in Jersey Sales

ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that Johnny Manziel, rookie quarterback of the Cleveland Browns, is the league’s best selling jersey. In the first quarter of the fiscal year, Manziel’s No. 2 jersey sold more on NFLShop.com than any other player.
Given the hype surrounding Johnny Football in college and the sudden resurgence—or first time emergence—of all things Cleveland, it should really come as no surprise to anyone at this point that Manziel is the leading seller.
Although this is the first time a Browns player has been the No. 1 seller since the league began keeping track of individual players’ sales in 2001. Rounding out the Top 10:

Manziel’s popularity aside, the most notable standout on the list is the dominance of the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Quarterback Russell Wilson, the team’s 12th Fan jersey and cornerback Richard Sherman, who recently landed on the cover of Madden 15, alone represent 30 percent of the list.
Rovell notes that Seahawks running back Marshawn “Beast Mode†Lynch is the NFL’s 11th best seller and safety Earl Thomas nine spots behind him at No. 20.
Manziel wasn’t the only rookie to crack the Top 20. Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is No. 13, Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney came in at No. 16, and Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles is No. 18.
