Anthony Davis: We Like Our Chances Against Anybody
Anthony Davis said the Lakers are hitting their ‘stride’ following Sunday’s 120 – 109 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It capped off a good week for the team in which they also dispatched Oklahoma City and the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Lakers have taken care of the Western Conference’s top two teams as well as the Eastern Conference’s No.2 team in the last three games.
Anthony Davis certainly hit his stride against Minnesota with an historic stat line. On Sunday, he had 27 points, 25 rebounds, 7 steals, 5 assists and 3 blocks.

His 25 rebounds were one less than his career high and the most by a Lakers player since 2013. The 7 steals were the most by a Laker since Lou Williams in 2015 and a career high for Davis.
LeBron James came off the bench to score 29 points with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. It wasn’t enough to steal the limelight from Davis in what teammate Taurean Prince described as a ‘Hall of Fame Performance’.
Anthony Davis is the first player to produce 25 points, 25 rebounds, 5 assists and five steals since steals began to be recorded in 1973.
“I think we’re hitting our stride right now,” Davis said.
“We’re just trying to keep going, keep pushing, knowing that just like last year, all we got to do is get in. We feel like it’s tough for anybody to beat us in a seven-game series. … We like our chances against anybody at that point.”

The win puts the Lakers 6 games above .500 for the first time this season and gives them a shot at bypassing the play-in tournament.
“Regardless of where we stand, if we go put our best foot forward and play the basketball that we know we can play … I think if you go ask anybody in our locker room, we’re super confident with what we have,” said guard Austin Reaves.
The Lakers are currently 9th in the Western Conference and two games behind the Suns with 16 games left.
