Braves @ Brewers Preview
After the Atlanta Braves suffered a shocking first game loss in a three-game series the Milwaukee Brewer, who are last place in the NL Central, the Braves will now look to even up the series later this afternoon.
The Braves have to be feeling like this is their game to win considering the Brewers are suffering from numerous injuries in their pitching staff and are starting long-time reliever,Donovan Hand. Hand, however, is keeping his prospects realistic saying he is shooting for three or four innings.
“I’m going to go out until they tell me to stop. A realistic goal would be three or four; anything after that would be a bonus.”
-Hand on his start
The right-hander will be making his first MLB start but has started in the Venezuelan Winter League last year, so he has some experience with the pressure that is on starting pitchers.
Hand’s longest outing this season has been three innings and has been called out of the bullpen eight times since May and has posted a 3.38 ERA.
Pitching for the Braves will be veteran Tim Hudson. He has been pitching in the MLB for 15 years and has recently thrown four consecutive quality starts. However, he hasn’t had a win in eight outings.
The Brewers will be playing at home which is always in the favor of anytime, however, it could prove as good luck for the Brewers. They have won seven straight games against the Braves when playing them in Milwaukee.
The Braves are favored to win this game according to the odds over at Bovada with a money line set at -151 compared to the Brewers line which is set at +136. The game starts at 4:10 p.m. ET.
