Dolphins coach says QB Ryan Tannehill is fully recovered

As the Miami Dolphins get their offseason program underway, quarterback Ryan Tannehill is apparently suffering no ill effects from the knee injury that ended his 2016 campaign.

Head coach Adam Gase remarked Tannehill, “Looks normal to me,” per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

“He just looks like he did last year. The difference is he’s got a better grasp of the offense at this point compared to last year. He moves around fine. He’s got a good edge that I like to him right now. You can tell that he wasn’t real happy about getting hurt last year. I like the way he’s working right now, and we’ll just keep doing what we’ve been doing. I know he’s really trying to make sure that he’s one of the reasons that we’re taking the next step. He’s really been pushing himself.”

Before being forced out with a knee injury, Tannehill was enjoying in many ways his finest season as a pro. In 13 games, he led the Dolphins to a 8-5 record while completing 67.1 percent of his passes, throwing 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

In addition to Tannehill entering 2017 with a better grasp of Gase’s offense, he has a loaded arsenal of receivers to work with. In addition to stalwart Jarvis Landry, Miami retained free agent Kenny Stills, DeVante Parker started coming into his own last year and the Dolphins landed tight end Julius Thomas.

There’s a lot to be excited about for Dolphins fans, especially if Tannehill can continue taking steps in a positive direction playing for Gase.
