Kevin Durant Plays Defining Game For New Brooklyn Nets

Nets coach Steve Nash says playing Kevin Durant the whole game is an ‘easy decision that’s very tough to make’.

The NBA is so simplistically beautiful when those decisions work out. Down by 17, Brooklyn took a 3 – 2 lead against the Bucks thanks to an historic Kevin Durant showing.

Kevin Durant scored 49 points in 48 minutes as the Nets dispatched Milwaukee 114 – 107 on Tuesday night.

He also had 17 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals and two blocks.

“I was able to rack up some points,” Durant said. “I did play every minute, so that helped with my point total.”

“I didn’t even think about nothing but just each possession,” Durant said afterward.

“I was trying to win each possession, and I didn’t think of how many points I had or shot attempts, rebounds, assists.

“It was more so like, ‘Just let me do what I need to do each possession.’ That’s the approach I always take.

“To be honest, I don’t even rank or look at the performances,” Durant added. “Once they happen, I just try to move on and see if I can do it again. It was a fun game to be a part of. There was a lot of games in my career that I felt were just as fun. I’m sure when I reflect on it, we can talk about it again but for now, it was great that we got the W.”

The Nets have had trouble fielding their best team this season due to injury. Steve Nash will be thanking his lucky stars that Durant didn’t get injured.

“What can I tell you, it’s not ideal,” coach Steve Nash said of not taking Durant out of the game.

“But if we didn’t play him 48, probably weren’t winning tonight. It’s a tough decision, it’s an easy decision that’s very tough to make.”
