NBA Prospect Luka Doncic Helps Real Madrid to Euroleague Title
The much sought-after Real Madrid star Luka Doncic added a few extra lines to his C.V on Sunday.
His Real Madrid team beat defending champion Fenerbahce Istanbul 85 – 80 in Belgrade to seal the Euroleague title. It was the tenth time that Real Madrid have won the Euroleague title.
Luka Doncic scored 15 points, made 4 assists and had 4 rebounds on the game. The 19 year old played for 29 minutes, which was more than any other Real Madrid player. He played most of the fourth quarter before fouling out with 39 seconds left.
For his performances this summer, Luka Doncic was awarded the Euroleague MVP and Euroleague Final Four MVP titles. He is the youngest ever Final Four MVP.
All of this comes just 8 months after he helped Slovenia to it’s first ever European Championship.

Doncic has so far refused to confirm whether he will play basketball in the NBA next season. Following Sunday’s victory, he was still playing his cards close to his chest.
“I will tell about all at the right time. Right now I just want to celebrate with my team. Soon I will tell.”
Doncic has been heavily linked with the holders of the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2018 NBA Draft, the Phoenix Suns.
In Phoenix, he would reunite with Igor Kokoskov, who coached Slovenia to their European Championship win. The Suns appointed Kokoskov as head coach after his Utah Jazz season was over.
The Sacramento Kings and Atlanta Hawks, who draft behind Phoenix at 2 and 3, are unlikely destinations for Doncic.
Those teams are rumored to be looking for American frontcourt players rather than foreign talents.
It’s possible another NBA team could trade up in the draft to secure the services of Doncic. If not, he could end up with The Memphis Grizzlies (No.4) or the Dallas Mavericks (No.5).
