Cavs guard Derrick Rose’s future still remains ‘unclear’
The Cavs may have to play the rest of the 2017-18 NBA season without veteran point guard Derrick Rose. The former NBA MVP has grown tired of his constant injury problems. He is contemplating retirement only seven games into his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Cleveland has dealt with all sorts of problems this season. Injuries and defensive struggles have plagued them as they try to get back to form. Isaiah Thomas is still waiting to play his first game.

As for Rose, a decision is needed as he could very well have played his last game in the NBA. Rose has kept in contact with the team’s front office through the process, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Cleveland Cavaliers guard Derrick Rose is staying in communication with the franchise’s front office during his self-imposed exile, but his future status with the team remains unclear, league sources told ESPN.
Rose has missed the last eight games for the Cavs as he nurses a sprained ankle. Despite what the veteran guard has done throughout his career, the injuries have been a persistent problem. When he shows flashes of his form, he is one of the best guards in the league.
In the meantime, the Cavs have won seven straight games and seem to be getting back on track ahead of Thomas’ return to the floor. Cleveland is playing well with LeBron James leading the way and Thomas’ debut around the corner meaning the team may not mind if Rose does indeed decide to shut it down for the season or call it a career.
