Kevin Garnett Wants To Return To Timberwolves Next Season
After a disappointing stint with the Brooklyn Nets, superstar Kevin Garnett decided to end his NBA career where it started. The Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Garnett in a trade last season in hopes of the veteran grooming some of the team’s promising young players into stars of the future.
Fortunately, the Timberwolves may have Garnett around to mentor these young players a little while longer. Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor believes Garnett wants to return for at least one more season, via Darren Wolfson of 5 Eyewitness News:
Spoke w/ Glen Taylor yesterday. On KG's future: "You'd have to ask him, but from everything he's told me, he wants to be (back)." #twolves

Although the Timberwolves are headed for the NBA Draft Lottery once again this summer, the team has made considerable strides this season. Andrew Wiggins, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Zach LaVine make up a talented young core that Minnesota can build around moving forward.
Garnett’s mentorship has likely helped with the team’s progress, especially in the development of Towns. Along with Towns potentially being the future face of the franchise, the Kentucky product is the clear favorite to be this season’s NBA Rookie of the Year.
If Garnett does intend return for another year, the veteran forward will break the record for the longest career in NBA history set by Kevin Willis and Robert Parish. The Timberwolves star is currently playing in his 21st season in the league.
In 38 games for the Timberwolves, Garnett is averaging 3.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game.
