Nets Coach Steve Nash says Brooklyn faced ‘one too many obstacles’ to win
James Harden being traded to the already stacked Brooklyn Nets sent shockwaves throughout the NBA. The consensus was that the Nets would not be beaten this season with too much firepower going their way. Although, things didn’t go as planned. Injuries took a massive toll on the star-studded squad at the worst time possible.
Although Kevin Durant showed some incredible heroics throughout the playoff series against the Milwaukee Bucks, the fact that Harden never got over his hamstring injury and Kyrie Irving was lost for the series with an ankle injury proved to be too much for Brooklyn.

First-year head coach Steve Nash talked about how the obstacles for the Nets turned out to be insurmountable via ESPN.
“I still thought we could win it,” Nash said. “And clearly, I think we proved tonight that we could. Game could have gone either way. You always know there’s a chance. Anything can happen. I think we just faced one too many obstacles this year. Because our guys gave everything they had.”

Despite losing to the Bucks and going home empty-handed, the Nets could be a dominant force for many years to come. Durant proved that he’s just as good as he was before the devastating Achilles injury, while the squad with three superstars also proved they could coexist in their efforts to win a title in Brooklyn.
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the Nets over the offseason and if they can keep this team intact and prepared for another deep run in the playoffs next season.
