NFL odds: Week 6 odds to bet

The NFL slate this week is interesting. We have a terrific contest on Thursday night with the Philadelphia Eagles traveling to take on the Carolina Panthers at Bank of America Stadium. On Sunday, the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs will host the Pittsburgh Steelers, a one-time Super bowl favorite that has fallen on hard times.

So which are the five games you should be paying attention to from a betting standpoint? Let’s get after it… (All lines courtesy of Oddsshark).

5. Green Bay Packers (-3) at Minnesota Vikings

The Packers are going to win this game. Nothing against the Vikings, who have a terrific defense and a solid coach, but Minnesota is in a tough spot here. Case Keenum will need to score some points to keep pace with the Packers, assuming Aaron Rodgers has a typical Aaron Rodgers game. Look for Green Bay to win by enough to cover this small spread.

4. Miami Dolphins at Atlanta Falcons (-13)

This is a huge number, even if it’s completely justified. The Falcons are coming off a bye, just lost at home in Week 4 to the Buffalo Bills, and had a week to get healthy. Meanwhile, Jay Cutler just finished throwing for 96 yards and an interception against the Tennessee Titans. Atlanta is going to hammer the Dolphins, but this is a tough cover. Look for the Dolphins to barely cover the spread with a late touchdown.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs (-4)

Kansas City is playing like the best team in the league, not only with regards to record but eye test. The Chiefs are 5-0 and hosting the Steelers, who are in complete disarray. Last weekend, Pittsburgh watched Ben Roethlisberger throw five interceptions in a 30-9 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars at Heinz Field. All things considered, this is a brutal spot for the Steelers. Pittsburgh is allowing 5.1 yards per carry, and Kareem Hunt leads the league in rushing yardage. Factor in a raucous crowd, and the Chiefs roll here.

2. New York Giants at Denver Broncos (-11.5)

This is a huge spread. Look, the Broncos are 3-1 and at home. New York is 0-5 and without Brandon Marshall and Odell Beckham Jr., something that is a death nell against Denver’s secondary. Still, the Broncos have a tough time scoring, and the Giants have real defensive talent. Denver is going to win the game, but covering 11.5 points is a huge ask for a team that isn’t likely to eclipse 20 points on a weekly basis.

1. New England Patriots (-9.5) at New York Jets

The Patriots and Jets are both 3-2, something that is utterly shocking considering the talk Aaron both these teams at the beginning of the summer. New England should be able to handle business here, though, considering the difference in talent. The Patriots should win by at least two scores, with the Jets simply not being able to keep up with the oncoming offensive onslaught.
