NFL Week 3: 5 best games of the weekend
After seeing a shocking barnburner break out on Thursday night with the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers combining to score 80 point, we now move to a weekend that begins in London and ends in Arizona.
So which are the games you can’t afford to miss? We run down the best five games of the weekend:
5. Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers
On the surface, this isn’t the most enticing game. The Chiefs are perhaps the best team in the league at 2-0 while the Chargers have been the same old Chargers, losing a pair of close games. However, over the past two years, these two have played some thrillers. Kansas City has won six consecutive games against San Diego/Los Angeles, but that could change against a desperate Chargers team.
The biggest question is whether Kansas City can be slowed down. With the trio of Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, the Chiefs have averaged 34.5 points per game thus far, beating two very good teams in the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.
4. New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles
This is going to be one of the more intriguing games with two NFC East foes getting after it. There’s plenty on the line for both, with the Eagles trying to get to 2-0 in the division and 2-1 overall. Meanwhile, the Giants have been a total mess thus far, sitting at 0-2. Another loss here and the season is all but over for a team that had Super Bowl aspirations only a month ago.
3. Oakland Raiders at Washington Redskins
This Sunday night contest pits two o the more explosive offenses against each other. Washington is 1-1 after an impressive win on the road over the Los Angeles Rams last weekend, while the Raiders are 2-0 after dispatching the Tennessee Titans and New York Jets. This game could come down to which defense can cause a turnover and/or get a big stop down the stretch.
2. Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have looked terrible this season, but find themselves sitting at 1-1 after an overtime Week 2 victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The Cowboys are also 1-1 after getting blown out by the Denver Broncos on Sunday, leaving both teams trying to prove their mettle. If Arizona wins this game, perhaps we take it seriously in the NFC West. As for the Cowboys, they need to get back on track.
1. Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans
This is the best and most-interesting game of Sunday. Both teams are expected ti win their respective divisions, and both have plenty to prove. Tennessee hasn’t scored much in terms of long drives this year, while the Seahawks can’t block in front of Russell Wilson. Which team can fix some of their issues and get back on track?
