Adam Gase ‘Looking Into’ ESPN After ‘Ghosts’ Soundbite

Adam Gase is the head coach of a struggling New York Jets franchise. His team are 1 – 5 on the season and third in the AFC East.

As well as that, franchise quarterback Sam Darnold is struggling to return to form after recovering from mono.

Darnold’s struggles became a national talking point after he was heard saying “I’m seeing ghosts” on Monday night football.

It didn’t help that he visibly struggled in the blowout loss to the New England Patriots, going for five turnovers.

Of all the issues Adam Gase has to deal with at the moment, the fact Dam Darnold was mic’d up should be a low priority. However, that’s what he’s been talking about this week, and Adam Gase is not happy.

His ire stems from the fact that no one from the Jets organization heard Darnold’s comments before ESPN aired them.

“Yeah, I think we’re gonna be looking into that pretty hard,” Gase said.

“That was one of those things that was really disappointing to hear about after the game. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that, where somebody that was mic’d up was basically, you know a comment like that was allowed to be aired. It bothers me, it bothers the organization.”

“Monday night game, you know somebody’s usually mic’d up,” Gase said.

“I know once a year I have to do the same thing. It’s just kinda part of the deal. Obviously, you’re never anticipating something like that happening. The fact that it did, just gives us pause to really cooperate anymore, because I don’t really know how we can allow our franchise quarterback to be put out there like that.”

The Jets’ next game is against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
