Antonio Brown ‘grateful’ to re-sign with Buccaneers

Before signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last year, superstar wide receiver Antonio Brown seemed to be heading for retirement. Teams were unwilling to take the risk of signing him to a deal. The Buccaneers eventually came around on the idea of bringing him in. It seems to have worked out for both sides.

However, heading into the NFL offseason, there was no telling what would happen with Antonio Brown. His future was up in the air once again, but after a lot of speculation and what seemed like another divorce with another team, he’ll remain in Tampa as he took to Instagram to announce he re-signed with the Buccaneers.

“First and foremost, I am grateful for the opportunity to return to the Buccaneers,” Brown wrote. “It wouldn’t be possible without my brother Tom Brady, the Buccaneers organization, my teammates and of course my fans. So Let’s Go God Bless.”

Unlike Super Bowl champions of the past that have been stacked with big-name players, the Buccaneers have retained every starter on the team from the championship squad. Tampa Bay retained Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Ndamukong Suh, Leonard Fournette, Chris Godwin and Shaquil Barrett, to name a few.

Needless to say, the Buccaneers are focused on pulling off the repeat, which is not an easy feat in the NFL. The defending champs will basically have the same team intact and ready to go for another title.
