Bengals’ Joe Flacco earns first Pro Bowl selection
For the first time in his 18-year career, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco garnered his first trip to the Pro Bowl. Flacco was selected as an alternate for the event in Santa Clara.
The 41-year-old began the 2025 season as the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. He was then benched for four games before being traded to the Bengals on Oct.7 due to the team’s need for quarterback help, after Joe Burrow suffered a turf toe injury.
In nine games with Cincinnati, he posted 1,664 passing yards with 13 touchdown passes to four interceptions, a 61.7 percent completion rate, and held a 91.1 passer rating.

Flacco adds the latest accolade to his career achievements, which include winning Super Bowl XLVII and Super Bowl MVP, and the 2023 Comeback Player of the Year award.
Since departing from the Baltimore Ravens, he has bounced around the league over the last several seasons. The Bengals have expressed interest in bringing him back as Burrow’s backup, but he wants another opportunity to start and hasn’t considered retirement yet.
“A lot of guys talk about falling out of love with the game or just kind of knowing,” Flacco said during a recent appearance on the BMore Football Podcast, via the Baltimore Sun’s Bennett Conlin. “I don’t think that’s hit me yet.”
He is in line to hit free agency, where he should draw plenty of interest across the league. He remains a viable option under center who can still step in as a starter when needed.
