Bengals QB Joe Burrow begins practicing
Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow has returned to the practice field, leaving the door open to his possible playing again this season.
Although Burrow didn’t lay out an exact return date from a turf toe injury, he voiced that it would be meaningful for him to play on Thanksgiving Day on Nov. 27 against the Baltimore Ravens.
He participated in practice on Monday in a limited capacity, which officially opened his 21-day window to return from the injured reserve.
“We’ll see how these next couple weeks go,” Burrow said in his first news conference since the injury via ESPN. “There’s a lot that goes into it. There’s a lot of variables that you have to consider.”
The Bengals will likely continue to take the precautionary approach with Burrow’s imminent return this season. He hasn’t played since suffering the injury in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cincinnati has since lost five of its last six games, putting it at a 3-6 mark and at the bottom of the AFC North standings. It has put them at the fringe of being out of the playoff picture entirely, which Burrow didn’t rule out, that it could lead to him not returning this season.
Burrow has struggled with significant injuries throughout his career. He suffered a season-ending torn ACL and other ligaments in his rookie campaign. He tore a ligament in his wrist that limited him to 10 games, and he had a strained calf that impacted the start of that season.
