Bills star Von Miller officially ruled out for the rest of the season
As the playoffs inch closer, the Buffalo Bills will have to make a push toward the Super Bowl without star pass rusher Von Miller.
The Bills announced on Tuesday that Miller underwent exploratory surgery that found an ACL injury in his right knee that will force him to miss the rest of the season.
“Unfortunate situation, for Von, obviously, and our team. Care for him, obviously, like we would any player,” head coach Sean McDermott said via ESPN. “We know how much this means to him in terms of playing and being with the team, so we look forward to getting him back, obviously off the field for the rest of the season and his leadership, and we’re certainly thinking about him as he recovers here.”

Miller initially hoped to return to play in this upcoming Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, but that is now entirely off the table. His absence leaves a gaping void along the front seven, as he was the team’s top passing-rushing factor.
Miller led the team with eight sacks along with 3.5 stuffs in 12 games. His presence provided the Bills with a formidable pass rush that will need the rest of the defensive line to step up with him out of the lineup.

The Pro Bowler is in the first year of his six-year, $120 million deal that he signed last offseason after helping guide the Los Angeles Rams to win in Super Bowl 56. Miller should be in line to return fully healthy to play the 2023 campaign.
