Cam Ward’s Offseason Changes Could Be Key to Titans’ Future Success
As the Tennessee Titans move through the offseason, one of the most notable changes beyond the coaching staff has been second-year quarterback Cam Ward’s physique.
Ward went into the team’s OTAs this week looking slimmer months ahead of the 2026 campaign.
The Titans rising star revealed on Thursday that he has lost around 10 pounds after weighing 219 pounds last season.
“I think it’ll help me with durability,” Ward said via ESPN. “Just being faster, getting up in the pocket, and trying to play my speed. I watch my diet more, continue to have more cardio, just work on my body, just now here and when I’m away from the building.”
With an NFL season under his belt and his second offseason underway, Ward has a better sense of where he should be physically to withstand the physicality of playing quarterback in the NFL.
He went through a tough rookie season, tied with Geno Smith for the league lead with 55 sacks. That is more than enough to push Ward to further prepare physically for next season with the Titans.

The 23-year-old also worked to strengthen his right shoulder, which he injured during the opening drive of the regular season finale. The Titans need him to be at his best physically to get the most out of him if they hope to take a significant step forward after a largely disappointing 2025 season.
Ward holds Tennessee’s future in his hands as the franchise cornerstone under center, making this offseason vitally important for the team’s hope for sustained success ahead.
