Cowboys claims Dak Prescott has ‘gotten better, stronger and faster’
Since entering the league, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has brought plenty of stability to the franchise with his play under center.
This has seen the Cowboys become a constant in the playoff picture while his performance on the field has progressively improved. It’s something that recently unretired star tight end Jason Witten has noted about Prescott, according to Jori Epstein of USA TODAY Sports.
“I guess the trick is to take a year off. Because he’s definitely gotten better, stronger and faster.”
Witten may just be pumping up the confidence of his quarterback heading into his fourth year in the NFL, but Prescott has a chance to prove himself to be one of the league’s top young players at the position.
He hasn’t been one to fill the stat sheet with impressive numbers, but he has made the Cowboys into a playoff team with a pair of postseason appearances with an NFC East division title in each instance. His play has been steady in helping to pace the offense while proving he can lead the team to plenty of success.
Prescott is currently involved in contract extension talks with the Cowboys as he’s set to enter the final year of his rookie contract. Both sides are reportedly progressing toward a new contract that should be in place at some point this offseason.
Beyond just that, Prescott is heading into next season looking to take the Cowboys much further than just reaching the divisional round of the playoffs after coming off the first playoff win of his career last year.
