Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants to just ‘win a damn football game’

The Dallas Cowboys have been far from the team that raced out to a 3-0 start to the season. It has seen them stumble as of late, putting their lead in the NFC East in potential danger.

It has led to team owner Jerry Jones voicing his frustrations with the team’s shortcomings on the field. During a recent interview on NFL Network, Jones narrowed all his angst towards being simply wanting his team to get back on the right track. (H/T Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk)

“Let me just say this,” Jones said on NFL Network when asked about quarterback Dak Prescott‘s contract negotiations. “I think all of us, including the fans, wanna win a damn football game, OK? Now I know we’ve got a lot of other things to think about. Who’s coachin, who’s playin’? Who’s compared to another player someplace else? How ‘bout let’s win some ball games folks? We can take that other stuff. I’m not known as a guy who gets hand cramps when I’m writin’ checks, but I wanna win some football games.”

The Cowboys certainly had their chance against the defending champion New England Patriots falling 13-9 on the road. Their defense certainly did their part in keeping the game close enough so that they could have a chance to pull out a win.

Dallas has some internal issues that need to be addressed as they have too talented of a roster to be holding a 6-5 record on the year. Things will not get any easier the rest of the way with matchups against the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, and Eagles.

These next couple of weeks could be telling of how the rest of the season will pan out for the Cowboys.
