Cowboys signed RB Javonte Williams to new deal
With the offseason now underway, the Dallas Cowboys wasted little time in securing their backfield by inking running back Javonte Williams to a three-year deal worth $24 million with $16 million guaranteed.
The contract also features a $6 million signing bonus and keeps him in tow for the foreseeable future.
Williams excelled in his first campaign with the Cowboys, posting career-best numbers across the board with 1,201 rushing yards on 252 carries and 11 rushing touchdowns. He proved to be the bellcow back that the Cowboys have needed to stabilize their running game.
The 25-year-old posted a pair of 100-yard rushing performances as part of notching at least 50 rushing yards 13 times. His production provided much-needed balance that will give the Cowboys one of the league’s better scoring offenses next season.
With Williams under contract, the attention switches over to Pro Bowl wideout George Pickens, who is headed toward free agency.

However, the Cowboys could secure him under the franchise tag, but that would cost them around $28 million in 2026. Dallas has until March 3 to decide whether to use it on him, which could give them until mid-July to work out a long-term contract.
Pickens is coming off putting forth his best season, posting career-best numbers with 93 receptions for 1,429 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. He reportedly has his eyes set on securing a lucrative contract that pays him like one of the league’s top receivers.
Time will tell if the Cowboys are willing to pay that price tag to keep Pickens.
