Eagles GM’s Blunt A.J. Brown Response Raises More Questions Than Answers
After the Philadelphia Eagles acquired wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers, it quickly raised questions about A.J. Brown’s future with the franchise.
In light of the growing speculation around Brown, general manager Howie Roseman didn’t publicly budge toward creating doubt about the star wideout.
“What do you think the odds are that I’m answering this question any different than I’ve answered anywhere else? Like really, do you think that’s 50%? Do you think that’s 75%?” Roseman said via ESPN. “A.J. Brown is an Eagle.”
It isn’t necessarily a strong vote of confidence that Brown will remain an Eagle, but it doesn’t move the needle in the other direction that a trade in the future.
Beyond the public disgruntlement Brown faced this past season, Philadelphia has made some intriguing moves this offseason. The front office added more depth the wide receiver room by signing veterans Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore to one-year deals in free agency, then recently acquired Wicks to further bolster their group of pass catchers.
The Eagles haven’t exactly come out to state that Brown won’t be moved, but rather that he is on the roster. That alone keeps the chatter prominent, especially after earlier this offseason, when the talk was that the New England Patriots could be a possible landing spot for the Pro Bowler.

Philadelphia likely prefers to keep Brown, given his importance to the offensive game plan as the key factor in the passing game. However, there are still several months until the start of the 2026 season, which leaves plenty of time for things to change quickly on that front.
