Former Packers WR James Jones predicts Green Bay going 16-0 in 2018
In the weeks leading up to the 2018 season, there is plenty of optimism surrounding the outlook of the Green Bay Packers.
The anticipated return of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has many high on their expectations for Green Bay. However, James Jones, who is a former Packers wide receiver and current NFL analyst, has taken his prediction to the next level voicing that he believes the team can run the table to finish the regular season 16-0.

“One time when I played with the Green Bay Packers with 12 under the center, we started off 14-0. “They start off right here. Got some new little weapons over there; Jimmy Graham, Marcedes Lewis, found out they got a running game when [Aaron] Rodgers was hurt. Still got that now.”
Although Jones is off a game as the Packers went 13-0 in the 2011 season that he is referencing, it saw Rodgers leading the charge with his productive campaign that saw him earn his first NFL MVP award as he posted career highs across the board with 4,643 passing yards on 68.3 passer rating with 45 touchdown passes to six interceptions that led to a then-NFL best 122.5 passer rating.
Much of Jones’ lofty prediction depends on the play of Rodgers, who is coming off the second fractured collarbone of his career that cost him nine games of the 2017 season. There is no question that the 34-year-old will have the motivation to prove that he is still at the top of his game as one of the league’s best quarterbacks.
Green Bay did have the departure of former Pro Bowl wide receiver Jordy Nelson but did see the additions of Pro Bowl tight end Jimmy Graham and veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis to help stabilize the passing game. The possibility of going 16-0 is quite difficult, but what should be taken into consideration is Jones has a strong bias toward his former team and quarterback.
That said, with Rodgers leading the way, the Packers should be in the mix to contend for a Super Bowl in 2018.
