He has 884 passing yards, along with two touchdowns to six interceptions, and a 71.7 passer rating in five games this season. Jones has been far from reliable under center compared to his production last year.
The Giants will again turn to Tyrod Taylor to start in hopes of leading them to a second straight win against the New York Jets.
Taylor did enough to guide New York past the Washington Commanders 14-7 behind, completing 18-of-29 passes for 279 passing yards and two touchdowns. Former Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller led the charge with seven catches for 78 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The Giants tallied 356 total offensive yards despite converting only 5-of-16 third downs and picking 16 first downs against the Commanders.

New York will need much more from Taylor and the offense against their crosstown rivals. The Jets possess one of the league’s top defenses, led by star defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and cornerback Sauce Gardner, who cleared the concussion protocol ahead of this week’s matchup.
The Giants will lean on Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley to anchor the offensive game plan. Barkley has recorded 284 rushing yards on 3.8 yards per carry with a touchdown in four games.
