Jaguars ‘trending toward’ not having Trevor Lawrence for Week 10
The 2024 NFL season has been rough, to say the least, for the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Trevor Lawrence and company having lost seven of the nine games they’ve played thus far.

Heading into Week 10, things might get a little rougher for the Jaguars, with their star quarterback more than likely missing this weekend’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, according to head coach Doug Pederson via Michael DiRocco of ESPN.
It does not appear that Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will play against the Vikings on Sunday because of his left shoulder injury, coach Doug Pederson said Friday morning.
“It is trending toward [Lawrence] not playing,” Pederson said.
Unfortunately for Jacksonville, the team hasn’t played well even without the former No. 1 overall pick under center. However, the Jaguars are a better team with him on the field, but Pederson wants to prioritize his health moving forward via ESPN.
“What I learned last year is if we know early in the week that he’s not going to play, don’t play him,” Pederson said. “Let him get healthy, let him heal because he can’t miss those reps in practice. He’s got to stay on track. He can’t miss necessarily a Wednesday, Thursday, maybe even a Friday, a limited Friday, and expect from the quarterback position to play.”
With Lawrence trending toward missing this game against the Vikings, Jacksonville will turn to Mac Jones, who the team traded for during the NFL offseason in a deal with the New England Patriots.
