Jakobi Meyers secures three-year extension with Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars secured a long-term piece of their future by agreeing to a three-year, $60 million extension with wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.
The contract includes a guaranteed $ 40 million and keeps him with the Jaguars through the 2028 season.
Jacksonville acquired Meyers on the Nov. 4 trade deadline from the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a 2026 fourth and sixth-round selections.
He quickly acclimated himself to his new team as he notched 27 receptions on 38 targets for 355 receiving yards and three touchdowns. His presence and contribution helped elevate the Jaguars’ offense, specifically the play of quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Over his first six games with Jacksonville, the team held a 5-1 record and averaged 31.8 points. This featured 14 touchdown passes to five interceptions, with three of them occurring in one game.
The Jaguars kept that momentum rolling into Week 16 action by upending the top-seeded Denver Broncos on the road 34-20, marking their sixth straight win and handing the Broncos their first home loss of the season. Lawrence shone again behind four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing) and held a 115.4 passer rating.

Meanwhile, Meyers added four receptions on eight targets for 48 receiving yards. Since joining the Jaguars, he has caught at least four passes and topped more than 40 receiving yards all but once.
Jacksonville sits in a promising position heading into the final two weeks of the regular season with an outside chance to secure the top overall spot in the AFC playoff picture at an 11-4 record.
