Joe Burrow ‘not panicking’ amid Bengals’ 0-2 start
The Cincinnati Bengals have stumbled out of the gate to start the 2024 season, quickly falling to a 0-2 start.
However, the early struggles haven’t created any cause for concern for star quarterback Joe Burrow.
“We’re in a fine spot,” Burrow said in his weekly news conference via ESPN. “We’ve been here before. We’re not panicking. We’re focused on getting a win and getting better every day.”

The Bengals are coming off a frustrating 26-25 loss against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, where they had a lead in the fourth quarter, and a late-game pass interference call set up a game-winning field goal for the Chiefs.
In the loss, Burrow completed 23-of-36 passes for 258 yards with two touchdowns. Through the first two games, he ranks 17th with 422 passing yards and tied for 13th with two touchdown passes, and holds a 56.5 quarterback rating.
Although it’s a small sample size, Burrow’s production hasn’t been up to the standard the Bengals need. A significant factor around that is star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase also starting off quiet this season, posting 10 catches for 97 receiving yards and zero touchdowns.

The dynamic duo hasn’t provided the spark offensively that the Bengals feed off. Meanwhile, the team may be getting a key element back for Monday’s game against the Washington Commanders in wide receiver Tee Higgins progressing toward a return.
Higgins was a limited participant in Friday’s practice ahead of Week 3 action. Beyond that, the Bengals hold an opportunity to get back on track against the Commanders to quiet the growing concerns.
