Kliff Kingsbury will stay with Commanders
After helping guide the Washington Commanders to an NFC Championship game appearance, offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has chosen to remain with the franchise and not speak with the New Orleans Saints about their head coach vacancy.
The Saints are the only team left without a head coach, which likely will mean that Kingsbury will explore that realm next offseason. He wouldn’t have been able to interview with any team as he turned down interview requests during the playoffs, which would have kept him off the market until after the Super Bowl.
Kingsbury was one of three coaches who withdrew from the interview process. Aaron Glenn had one interview with the team before he later accepted the New York Jets opening.
Meanwhile, Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady chose to stay with the franchise instead of speaking with the Saints for a second time. All that has left New Orleans to pivot in another direction with their eyes set on Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kellen Moore as the frontrunner for their opening.
It isn’t the first time that Moore has been in the running for a head coach gig as he’s worked his way up the ranks in his coaching career. He spent four years as the Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator before joining the Los Angeles Chargers in the same role last year.

Moore is in his first year with the Eagles, where he has played a significant part in helping the team reach their second Super Bowl in three years.
The Saints’ head coach job may be Moore’s to lose, and they could see him land it before next week.
