NFL power rankings, Week 9: Vikings keep winning
In the NFC version of NFL power rankings for Week 9, keep an eye on the Minnesota Vikings, who are pulling away in their division.
16. Detroit Lions (LW: 16)
At this point, it’s another lost year in Detroit. The pain for Lions’ fans continues.
15. Carolina Panthers (LW: 15)
Carolina is fighting hard, but the talent is nowhere near good enough to win against most decent teams.
14. Chicago Bears (LW: 13)
The Bears are finally starting to see real progress from Justin Fields. If he continues that ascent, Â it’s huge for Chicago.
13. New Orleans Saints (LW: 14)
Who saw that coming? A 24-0 shutout of the Las Vegas Raiders last week puts the Saints back in the playoff picture at 3-5.
12. Arizona Cardinals (LW: 11)
Arizona came close to pulling off an upset in Minnesota, but ultimately fell. Now, a very important home game against the Seahawks.

11. Green Bay Packers (LW: 10)
Can a team with a legendary quarterback but a shaky roster finally get off the deck and win this week as a favorite?
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 9)
See above.
9. Washington Commanders (LW: 12)
Washington is suddenly 4-4 and playing decent football with Taylor Heinicke at the helm. Can the Commanders beat the Vikings this weekend?
8. Los Angeles Rams (LW: 7)
It’s time for the Rams. At 3-4, Los Angeles needs to find a way to go on the road and handle the reeling Buccaneers.
7. Atlanta Falcons (LW: 8)
Atlanta is leading the NFC South and it feels possible for the Falcons to stay there. Really well-coached, and the weapons are better than once thought.
6. New York Giants (LW: 2)
The Giants fell a bunch of spots in the NFL power rankings after losing to Seattle, largely because they were playing over their heads to begin with. New York will still make the playoffs.
5. San Francisco 49ers (LW: 5)
San Francisco has the bye week and should get healthier with the rest. Â The Niners are going to be rolling once they have a full compliment of guys.

4. Seattle Seahawks (LW: 6)
Seattle is the best story of the season. The Seahawks are winning with Geno Smith and a defense that has gone from awful to awfully tough.
3. Minnesota Vikings (LW: 4)
Minnesota is 6-1 and winning the NFC North by 3.5games as we enter November. The Vikings have a chance to host a few playoff games.
2. Dallas Cowboys (LW: 3)
Dallas has a nasty defense. If Dak Prescott gets rolling, look out.
1. Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 1)
The Eagles are the only unbeaten team in the league, and they’ve largely been impressive on a weekly basis.
